Embracing Life's Magic: When Your Soul Says Yes

Trading Fear for Faith in the Year of New Beginnings

You know that old saying about New Year, New You? Well, my soul has taken it to heart.  After four years of tracking houses in Western Seattle on Zillow, I found a new home where my soul sings and my heart beams. It makes no sense to look at buying a house in early December or moving in January, but that’s what I will do. I want to tell you I lived what I’ve learned. I love what I share in my book, “Afterlife Bonds.”  I watch the signs and check in with my gut.

A few days after Thanksgiving, Frisco and I were headed home from the movie “Santa One,” I mentioned, “I would love a house in the Seattle area where I can see the water, something cozy where my friends could visit, and a place to plant flowers in the summer. The next day, a house dropped into my price range, and suddenly, it came onto my list of available homes. At first glance, I couldn’t believe my eyes! It had everything I wanted: a view, a special area for guests, and the weather for beautiful flowers. I knew my guides were helping me.

Excitedly, I called a real estate agent, and we talked about the house's good, bad, and ugly issues. We agreed to negotiate and get an inspection. Since I had not been in the house, I jumped on a plane with a dear friend, and we went for a visit. As we stood in the backyard looking at the view, I knew it was the right place. I could have pulled up a chair and sat there all day. Removing time from my life and watching the boats in the sound and the seagulls fly by. That evening, we checked into our hotel, and we mentioned that there was a Santa Boat Parade that sounded charming. Upon hearing this, the owner moved us to a room facing the bay so we could sit in our beds and watch the parade. I was amazed by her kindness in gifting us an experience so beautiful.

At 7:30 pm, the Santa Boat Parade wandered into the harbor after floating around the peninsula. We opened our window to see and hear Santa. The boats were adorned with lights, and Santa had a megaphone. He was announcing best wishes to kids whose parents had called in to ask for messages. “To Sally Bellefonte, Great job with those grades, keep it come.” “To Sammy Peterson, Congratulations on the Best Citizen award.” What a Beautiful way to celebrate the Christmas Spirit. It all felt so magical.

The next day, we were back at the house for the inspection. As we walked in, my friend turned to ask me, “Well, how does it feel?” She knew me. She knew it would be a gut check to see if the photos in Zillow matched in person. I paused, “Comfortable, Safe, Warm.” It was that feeling I had when I first saw photos. I feel it again. I know there are things to fix, remodel, and redo, but this is where I am meant to be for now. The feeling is strong, soul-level stuff that makes me know it's right. I know my friends will visit and love it as much as I do. The view is AMAZING, and I will enjoy it as I plant my first Daffodils, Tulips, and Pacific Bleeding Heart. When I felt nervous, I heard, “I could let the fear stop me or let the experience expand me!”  but now a new message was emerging. My guides asked, “Why are you not embracing the Magic that has been created?”

Suddenly, I knew it was time. I’m taking the opportunity to embrace change, live my soul-filled life, and enjoy the Magic happening around me. I invite you to do the same. I am excited for the New Year and look forward to 2025.
